Arabica (Coffea arabica) is the coffee species most associated with specialty and single-origin coffee. It's grown at higher altitudes, is more delicate to farm, and produces a more complex, aromatic cup with brighter acidity compared to Robusta - which is why it commands a premium and dominates specialty coffee menus.
