Cothas vs Gray Cup: Chicory Coffee Price Per kg

Price per kg is the cleanest way to compare filter coffee, because packs differ. Cothas sells these blends in 200g and 500g packs and lists no 1kg, so its per-kg figures below are the rate at the 500g pack. Prices are as listed on cothas.com in October 2026.

Where Gray Cup Is Cheaper, and Where It Is Not

At 80:20 and 60:40, Gray Cup is cheaper in every pack. At 90:10 it is not: Cothas' Coffee Rich is ₹485 for 500g, against ₹925 for Gray Cup's 90% Arabica blend. We do not undercut it at that ratio, and the two are not priced as equivalents. Choose on the cup you want.

Cost Per Cup

A 30g cup of 80:20 costs about ₹23 with Gray Cup's 1kg pack and about ₹26-28 with Cothas. At 60:40 the figures are about ₹19.50 and ₹25.50. Over a month of one cup a day, that is roughly ₹90-180 saved per drinker.

Before You Compare Anything

Check delivery charges and pack size on both sites, and compare like ratios with like. A cheaper pack with more chicory is not a cheaper cup of coffee: it has less coffee in it. For the ratio question, see our chicory ratio guide.
