"Strong" Does Not Mean More Caffeine
Cothas describes Extra Strong as delivering a caffeine kick, but chicory has no caffeine, so a 40% chicory blend has less coffee in each spoon than an 80:20 one. A 30g cup of 60:40 made with Arabica carries about 235 mg, against about 310 mg for 80:20. What 60:40 gives you is body, colour and a thick, bittersweet decoction that stands up to a lot of milk.
Caffeine: ~235 mg per 30 g cup60% coffee / 40% chicory
Verdict
This is the biggest price gap in the range: ₹85 less per 500g (20%) for Gray Cup at the same ratio. If you want a strong, milky, South Indian-style cup every morning, the saving is real. If you want maximum caffeine rather than maximum body, pick a lower-chicory blend instead.
