The coffee-chicory ratio is the share of coffee to chicory in a filter coffee blend, written as coffee:chicory, for example 80:20 for 80% coffee and 20% chicory. A higher chicory share gives a thicker, darker, more bittersweet cup with less caffeine; a lower share lets the coffee lead. 80:20 is the common home blend, and 70:30, 60:40 and 50:50 are heavier.
