Cothas Darshini Special vs Gray Cup Chicory Filter Coffee
Cothas Darshini Special is its lower-priced 80:20. See how it compares with Gray Cup's 80:20 and 70:30 chicory blends.

Cothas Darshini Special (80:20) is the brand's value-oriented blend, made for darshinis and small eateries that go through a lot of filter coffee. It is the cheapest 80:20 on Cothas' site, so it is the fairest test of whether Gray Cup is really cheaper.

Reading the Gap
At the same 80:20 ratio the gap is ₹30 per 500g, about 7%. That is a smaller gap than against Cothas' home blend, because Darshini Special is already its lower-priced option. Moving to a 70:30 blend widens it to ₹60 per 500g (about 14%), with a slightly heavier, mellower cup and a little less caffeine.
Brewing Lots of Coffee?
If you run a small cafe, mess or office pantry, the 1kg pack matters more than the 500g price: Cothas does not list one, and Gray Cup's 80:20 comes to ₹760 per kg. For bigger volumes, see our guide to coffee for cafes and restaurants.
