Best Medium Roast Coffee in India

Medium roast is the sweet spot for most coffee drinkers: dark enough to be smooth and rounded, light enough to keep the origin's aroma and a pleasant acidity. It's more forgiving than a light roast and less bitter than a dark one, and it works both black and with a little milk.

How Roast Levels Compare

  • Light - most acidity and origin character, thin body, can taste sour if under-brewed.
  • Medium - balanced acidity and body, sweetness developed, origin still visible.
  • Medium-dark - fuller body, less acidity, first hints of roast bitterness.
  • Dark (Vienna/French) - bold and roasty, low acidity, origin flavour mostly gone.

Getting the Best From a Medium Roast

Medium roasts are forgiving but still benefit from fresh grinding, 90-94 C water and a 1:16 ratio. If it tastes sour, grind finer or brew a little longer; if bitter, coarsen the grind or cool the water.
